Mike, it's pretty decently water resistant (in the rain), but I have never had it completely soaked. I coated it with Kiwi (silicone) water repllent, but have never truly tested it. There are drain holes at the bottom of the bag. While in Las Vegas we filled up ziplock bags full of ice and packed it with beer (no laptop of course). One of the bags leaked and the water soaked the bottom of the bag, but leaving it open overnight and it was dry the next day. Hope this helps.
Thanks Jundtie. WIth the Kiwi silicone, is there a best way to coat the bag to improve water resistance. It seems like, overall, you really enjoyed this bag. I'm trying to make a decision between the covrt 18 bag and the GR1 from GORUCK: http://www.goruck.com/products-page/rucksacks/gr1/
How does this bag perform against water (i.e. how water-resistant/waterproof is it) ?
ReplyDeleteThanks.
