Maxpedition Monsoon Gearslinger

Recently I picked up a Maxpedition Monsoon bag for my EDC. I bought it on sale at LAPG in black color. I really wanted to like this bag, but I don't. I should have done more research on this bag before I bought it. So let's get into my small review of this bag. First, the nylon that Maxpedition uses I really like. I have a couple of dogs at home, and this bag (and there other stuff) doesn't seem to attract/pick up the dog hair like some other brands do. Maxpedition does not make a S-Type of this bag like they do for the Sitka, so it is a left hand carried  sling bag. I understand that the reason they do this is to allow for a right handed weapon carry. But this now puts the CCW pocket opening on the bottom. What were you guys thinking? The last thing I want is to throw my bag open, and in a panic situation, have my weapon fall out on to the ground below. Okay enough of that. Now moving on to the organization (or lack there of) pocket area. When you first unflap the bag, you will see a long open mesh pocket. There is a hook for your key and a few other things, but what I do not like is that they seemed to have forgotten that the flap above isn't really secure, so why not some zippers guys? Also, would it have killed you to maybe do some actual organization on this bag? See the photo below:

The main compartment is secured by a zipper on each side of the admin pocket, and is kind of clunky for putting a lot of stuff into. I can throw my iPad in the pouch and a few other things, but load too much and your should is going to hate you. As with any sling type bag, they really are not made for a heavy load out. There is a nice spot on the inside to hold a iPod and then drape your earbuds out a hole. This is above the bottle pocket, which will fit a 32oz Nalgene or a large 32oz bottle perfectly. The bottle is secured with a shock cord. The hydration pouch is just big enough to hold my 100oz bladder. What sucks is this is also the CCW pocket. Who wants that? The sling on the bag is decent, and I really like that they have another strap to come up and secure to the bag. Overall, I really wanted to link this bag, but I don't. Which is surprising to me since I love Maxpedition products. There are too many short comings of this bag to be useful for me. This is the second sling bag that I have gotten in the last few months, and  I don't like them. After a while of carrying them they seem to rub my neck.
